Since I started traveling every year, far and wide in the Indian sub-continent 20 years ago, I have been fascinated by the elegance and composure of this ethnic / religious group. Sikhism is a monotheistic religion born in 15th century India. Their creed requires them to fight for justice and the good of all.
The Sikhs have 5 obligations: 1) not to cut the hair to be collected under the turban, acceptance of God’s will 2) the comb, a sign of spiritual control 3) the dagger, symbol of the will to defend the truth 4) the bracelet on the wrist a sign of unity with God 5) underwear, a sign of moral strength.
Sikhism believes in freedom, equality and gender equality, it does not follow caste difference. Their holy city is Amritsar in Punjab, where the Golden Temple is located. Place of pilgrimage.

Da quando 20 anni fa ho cominciato a viaggiare, ogni anno, in lungo e largo nel sub continente indiano sono rimasto affascinato dall’eleganza e compostezza di questo gruppo etnico/ religioso. Il sikhismo è una religione monoteista nata nell’India del xv secolo. Il loro credo impone di lottare per la giustizia ed il bene di tutti.
I Sikh hanno 5 obblighi: 1) non tagliare i capelli da raccogliere sotto il turbante, accettazione della volontà di Dio 2) il pettine, segno del controllo spirituale 3) il pugnale , simbolo della volontà di difendere la verità 4) il braccialetto al polso segno dell’unità con Dio 5)indumento intimo , segno della forza morale.
Il sikhismo crede nella libertà, nella uguaglianza e nella parità di genere , non segue la differenza castale. La loro città santa è Amritsar nel Punjab, dove si trova il Tempio d’Oro. Luogo di pellegrinaggio.
