Alessandro Rocchi – PUNJAB CHRONICLES
15 photographs taken in Punjab, a region in northern Pakistan on the border with India (where there is a state of the same name). In this region where more than half of the country’s population lives, the cities and streets are full of energy and kaos.
Colors, noises, scents, smells but above all many people. Men more than women, carry out most of their lives in the street engaged in various activities, productive or leisure.
The streets of the capital Lahore, the most populous city in Pakistan, and those of smaller towns such as Faisalabad and Sheikhupura, appear as well as treasure chests overflowing with small stories.
Stories of workers in the markets, of traders in their watch shops, of games in the dusty streets at nightfall.
