In the towns of Andalusia, during Easter week, there are sacred processions and intimate moments of great popular participation.

A faith collected and, at the same time, participated in that involves young and old in heavy commitments.

The deep respect for the figures and bearers dominates and is manifested in a shared silence, which imposes itself on the notes of the bands, prayers and impromptu sacred songs of the faithful during the stops.

Suddenly, at a signal from the Capataz – the director who gives orders to the bearers – everything is silent, the crowd holds its breath: the cart must resume its slow journey and must be lifted up by the bearers with a great coordinated effort.

Once up, the applause of the feat breaks out with a roar.

It is a show that communicates strong emotions of a dramatic religiosity.

Semana Santa in Andalusia

Nelle cittadine dell’Andalusia, nella settimana Pasquale, si incontrano processioni sacre e momenti intimi di grande partecipazione popolare.

Una fede raccolta e, allo stesso tempo, partecipata che coinvolge grandi e piccini in impegni gravosi.

Domina il profondo rispetto per i figuranti e i portatori e che si manifesta in un silenzio condiviso, che si impone sulle note delle bande, delle preghiere e dei canti sacri estemporanei dei fedeli durante le soste.

All’improvviso, ad un segnale del Capataz – il direttore che impartisce gli ordini ai portatori – tutto tace, la folla trattiene il respiro: il carro deve riprendere il lento cammino e deve esser risollevato dai portatori con un grande sforzo coordinato.

Una volta su, scoppia con fragore l’applauso partecipe dell’impresa.

E’ uno spettacolo che comunica forti emozioni di una drammatica religiosità.
