TTA – Travel Tales Award is a true Photographic Award, with an open call to collect the projects that will remain in 2023 open from February until 16th July, with a simple registration and a participation fee of 30 Euros for each portfolio or story registered for the Award.

Furthermore, like last year we have added a call dedicated to single images, TTA World Pics, conveyed through Instagram: enough to publish before end of April a travel picture with the hashtag #TTA2023:  almost 4000 imagines have been published last year on IG with that Hashtag #TTA2022, to get at final 40 winner pictures.

On the website each photographer can participate with one or more portfolios or stories, composed of max 15 images and a synopsis, which can be a real “travel diary” or a story that accompanies the use of the images or a Portfolio, with a “trait d’union”, helping to understand the meaning of the journey experienced or the human experiences, the teachings of life or the fascination of places or travel companions.

The 2023 call (february/april for Single Shots on IG,  february/july for portfolios and stories) will be used to select single shots and series, which will be screened by a commission of experts and professionals composed as follows:

  • Federica Berzioli, chief editor of IL FOTOGRAFO Magazine
  • Angelo Cucchetto, owner of and ISP, editor of CITIES
  • Loredana De Pace,  journalist and curator

Once the call is closed, the first project selections will take place: 50 travel portfolios or stories will be selected, for their beauty, evocative power, depth of vision and use of photographic language. The list of the 50 selected works will be published by end of July 2023.

The commission then will examine the works in selection and will proceed to confirm the projects that will access the proposed initiatives, and their authors will be notified.

The commision will also do the first selection from the Instagram 2023 Call,  active till 30th april 2023  with the Hashtag TTA2023.

The planned initiatives are numerous, and includes a winner personal exhibition at Otto Gallery3 portfolios on Il Fotografo magazine, a dozen stories among the 50 selected chosen and published on TravelGlobe magazine, gallery on Magazine Cities, a large collective at Corigliano Calabro Fotografia Festival in July and in Colorno Photo Life Festival in September, the exhibition of the ten finalist projects in Rome in November, the book for 15/20 authors that will be presented in February 2024 and various prizes.

On november 2023, the award ceremony of the selected authors will take place at OTTO Rooms & Photogallery in Rome, with a public event broadcast live on social media and the opening of the exhibition of the ten finalist projects.
