At the end of 2019 we left for a journey to discover Nepal. We didn’t want to tackle the usual tourist trip with the classic itineraries. This is why we set out to discover a still, as far as possible, unknown Nepal.
Made up of small mountain villages, where people’s life is still based on the rhythm of nature and where no one tries to force the delicate balance of the earth.
Leaving the capital and the asphalted roads, we enter the valleys below the Annapurna circuit where we find the first villages of farmers and artisans, who host us in their humble homes. People initially always very composed, welcome us with pleasure and after the initial embarrassment, they show us, even with a hint of pride, their crops and products.
The days are dictated by the slow movement of the sun and in the terraces borrowed from the mountain, everyone cooperates to produce the necessary for sustenance. The work is interrupted by long breaks where a cup of hot tea is never lacking. In the end the mountain goes nowhere!
The last stop of our journey is a village of Untouchables, where people cannot choose their place in society, but due to a tremendous legacy they can only be impure and carry out the humblest jobs. Although the faces of the people unequivocally show their life of suffering, they all welcome us with warmth and with a shy smile they demonstrate their great resilience.

The Nepalese with their natural spontaneity and respect, showed us kindness, the true one and taught us a new awareness of time.

A fine del 2019 siamo partiti per un viaggio alla scoperta del Nepal. Non volevamo affrontare il solito viaggio turistico con i classici itinerari. Per questo ci siamo lanciati alla scoperta di un Nepal ancora, per quanto possibile, sconosciuto.
Composto da piccoli villaggi di montagna, dove la vita della gente è ancora basata sul ritmo della natura e dove nessuno cerca di forzare i delicati equilibri della terra.
Lasciata la capitale, e le strade asfaltate, ci inoltriamo nelle vallate sottostanti il circuito dell’Annapurna dove troviamo i primi villaggi di agricoltori e artigiani, che ci ospitano nelle loro umili case. Le persone inizialmente sempre molto composte, ci accolgono con piacere e passato l’imbarazzo iniziale, ci mostrano, anche con un pizzico di orgoglio, i loro raccolti e prodotti.
Le giornate sono dettate dal lento movimento del sole e nei terrazzamenti presi in prestito dalla montagna, tutti cooperano per produrre il necessario per il sostentamento. Il lavoro viene spezzato da lunghe pause dove una tazza di thè caldo non manca mai. Alla fine la montagna non va da nessuna parte!
L’ultima meta del nostro viaggio è un villaggio di Intoccabili, dove le persone non possono scegliere il loro posto nella società, ma per una tremenda eredità potranno essere solo degli impuri e svolgere i lavori più umili. Seppur i volti delle persone mostrano in maniera inequivocabile la loro vita di sofferenze, tutti ci accolgono con calore e con un timido sorriso dimostrano la loro grande resilienza.

I Nepalesi con la loro naturale spontaneità e rispetto, ci hanno mostrato la gentilezza, quella vera e ci hanno insegnato una nuova consapevolezza del tempo.
