In the heart of Basilicata there exists and still resists a world far from the frenetic rhythms of the economic model that mass tourism has now imposed from Matera to the Apulian coast.
The peasant civilization, brought to light by Carlo Levi in ​​his Christ stopped in Eboli, still exists here, in the fragile balance of a land subject to drought and erosion. It is present, albeit in a modernized form and still firmly linked to the constraints and structure of the territory, harsh and fragile, which is a delight for the eyes of the occasional visitor but also a condemnation for those who have always lived there. It is a world suspended between ancient traditions and modern dynamics, in which the traveler is still a welcome and sincerely welcome guest.
The earth is consumed, yields, slips downstream, slowly dragging the villages, which day after day lose pieces until they disappear: Craco is the most famous example but certainly not an isolated case.
It is not uncommon to come across uninhabited and abandoned ghost villages, evidence of a world that is not entirely past.
Faith, traditions and respect are the cornerstones around which the life of those who, despite everything, keep alive this territory of rare beauty, in which the traveler can still find his truest dimension.

Nel cuore della Basilicata esiste e resiste ancora un mondo lontano dai frenetici ritmi del modello economico che il turismo di massa ha ormai imposto da Matera fino alla costa pugliese.
La civiltà contadina, portata alla luce da Carlo Levi nel suo Cristo si è fermato ad Eboli, qui esiste ancora, nel fragile equilibrio di una terra soggetta a siccità ed erosione. E’ presente, seppur in forma ammodernata ed ancora saldamente legata ai vincoli e alla struttura del territorio, aspro e fragile, che è delizia per gli occhi del visitatore occasionale ma anche condanna per chi lo abita da sempre. E’ un mondo sospeso tra antiche tradizioni e dinamiche moderne, in cui il viaggiatore è ancora un ospite ben accolto e sinceramente gradito.
La terra si consuma, cede, scivola a valle trascinando pian piano i paesi, che giorno dopo giorno perdono pezzi fino a scomparire: Craco è l’esempio più famoso ma non certo un caso isolato.
Non è raro imbattersi in borghi fantasma disabitati ed abbandonati, testimonianze di un mondo non del tutto passato.
Fede, tradizioni e rispetto sono i cardini attorno cui si sviluppa la vita di chi, nonostante tutto, mantiene vivo questo territorio di rara bellezza, in cui il viaggiatore può ancora trovare la sua dimensione più vera.
